Cheek Fillers

The ageing process typically has a significant visible impacts on a person’s face. Sunken, sullen or hollow cheeks make us look gaunt, exhausted and more aged than we actually are. This is the result of loss of subcutaneous fat which is present in our youth, but wanes as we age and grow older. Cheek fillers have been designed specifically to re-inflate cheeks from within and replacing missing soft tissue, thus filling out the cheeks, reducing fine-lines and also smoothing the surface of the skin to give you a fabulously youthful appearance.

Cheek fillers can be a good option to correct facial asymmetry, remove deep set wrinkles and fine lines, hydrate the skin on the face and provide fullness to sunken cheeks.

Improve complexion and texture – Cheek Fillers can also be used to improve complexion, suppleness, luminosity and texture of the face and cheeks. They can be incredibly restorative for the cheeks, helping revive the skin from the inside out through stimulation and hydration.

Improve general shape and symmetry – A combination of cheek and dermal filler and also muscle relaxants can help remedy concerns around general shape, symmetry and indentation on your cheeks and face. Frequently Asked Questions

How do cheek fillers work?

As we grow older, the skin on the face loosens, loses definition and thus appears aged. Cheek fillers help to address these areas specifically. The procedure involves injecting a naturally-derived cheek filler gel into the soft tissue of the face, helping reverse the loss of face volume and reduce depressions in the skin. This in turn helps restore your face to its natural, youthful appearance.

Cheek fillers are a very effective way to improve the appearance, undertake contouring, and restore symmetry without having to undergo invasive surgery.

What do cheek filler do?

Cheek Fillers can be used for a number of different treatments. They are a good option for refining, reshaping and re-sculpting the natural contours of your face. Cheek fillers can also help to even out the skin surface surrounding any facial scarring (such as marks left from chickenpox or acne), add volume to areas of the face that appear drawn or sunken, and also improve texture, tone and elasticity of the skin. Well placed cheek fillers can also help make your face appear slimmer and more taut.

How long will cheek filler results last?

Cheek Fillers typically last for 6 to 12 months. Some patients can see results last for as long as 2 years after treatment. How long cheek fillers last is largely dependent on the level of muscle movement the area is subjected to – for example, a person with a more expressive face will typically require top-ups more frequently. Cheek fillers in areas such as the person’s cheeks and tear troughs under the eyes typically last longer than fillers in more active facial areas such as the mouth and lips. We recommend that patients should come to see us every 6 to 9 months to maintain the full effects of cheek filler treatments.

How long does a cheek filler appointment take?

Cheek filler procedures typically take around 30 minutes. Many of our patients pop in to see us over their lunch break or immediately after work. Cheek filler treatments are very straight forward and many patients feel safe going back to work following a visit to our clinic.

Do cheek fillers have any side effects?

Following a cheek filler treatment, it is normal to experience some level of tenderness and also a sensation of skin tightness around the injection sites. These symptoms typically subside in a couple of days post treatment. Some redness is not uncommon following cheek filler treatment; also people with more sensitive skin may experience a little bruising around the area.

When can I return to work following cheek filler treatment?

Cheek filler treatment is very straightforward and also quick – therwe is typically no need to take time away from work following treatment. Post treatment, we advise all our patients to avoid massaging or applying intense pressure on the area for a couple days.
