Invisible Braces

Straighten your smile in as little as 3 months’ time

Invisalign clear aligners are a discrete way to straighten your teeth, helping to give you a more confident smile. Clear aligners or braces are virtually invisible, easily removable and more comfortable as compared to metal brackets. They are hygienic, cause no irritation to your gums or mouth and have minimal impact on your lifestyle. You won’t need to change what you eat, they won’t affect your speech, and most importantly – most people won’t be able to even tell you are wearing them.

Whites Dental is a private dental practice in Waterloo SE1, offering Invisalign treatment to patients within our vicinity. We are under 10mins walk from London Bridge, adjacent to Southwark Tube station. We are also around a 5mins walk from Borough, Southbank and Blackfriars.

Vincent on the
Invisalign experience.
“I’m more confident, more outgoing and smiling so much more. A smile really can change your life.
Some people did notice I was wearing the aligners,,but only because I was smiling more. Other people didn’t realise until I told them at the end of the treatment. You can take them out for eating, so there are no problems with food. i’m 100% satisfied and would recommend Invisalign to anyone.”

FAQs

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth – it enables you to achieve the smile you have always dreamed of. The treatment involves a series of clear aligners – aligners that are custom-made for your teeth, to move them little by little each time. Each clear aligner is worn for typically two weeks before being replaced by the next clear aligner in the series, enabling your teeth to gradually move towards their projected final position. Your treatment time and the number of aligners needed will be determined by our dentist, based on your specific needs.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign clear braces are virtually invisible. Most people may not even notice that you’re wearing them, making Invisalign aligners / braces fit in seamlessly with your lifestyle and day-to-day interactions. Invisalign braces are also removable, giving you the flexibility to eat and drink what you like during the course of the treatment by simply removing the aligners / braces. You can also remove the braces or aligners to floss or brush as normal. The Invisalign treatment does not involve metal brackets or wires. This usually means that in a vast majority of cases, less time is spent in our surgery for adjustments. Finally, Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you begin treatment so you can visualise how your teeth are expected to look when your treatment finishes.

Is Invisalign a new way to straighten teeth?

Orthodontists have successfully used removable appliances for years. Invisalign has built on that using Align Technology’s 3D computer technology and mass-customisation to treat a wide range of patients who want to straighten their teeth. The ClinCheck® software allows a patient to see their treatment plan from beginning to end before the treatment even starts.

How frequently will I need to come in for appointments?

You will need to come see our dentist typically every six to eight weeks so we can check your progress and make adjustments, if needed, to your braces.

How many patients are being treated with Invisalign?

Invisalign is a very popular treatment option for straightening teeth. More than 2.5 million patients worldwide have used Invisalign. That number grows daily.

Is Invisalign treatment suitable for children and teenagers?

Our experienced dentists can use Invisalign to treat malocclusion for a majority of adults and adolescents. For teenagers, our dentist will happily discuss the Invisalign Teen treatment, which may be the right treatment option for your child.

Is using Invisalign painful?

Some patients could experience temporary, minor discomfort for a few days, at the start of each stage of treatment – i.e. when they user a new brace / aligner. This is very normal and is often described as a feeling of pressure. This means that the braces are working – moving your teeth bit by bit, helping achieve the final results. This discomfort usually goes away in a few days.

I have a dental crown / bridge – can I still take up Invisalign?

Bridges link two or more teeth together firmly. As a result, they usually offer significant resistance to tooth movement. Our dentist will be able to determine whether bridges could be a factor to consider. Dental Crowns are typically not a factor in Invisalign treatment. Although, in some cases small tooth-coloured composites called “attachments” need to be bonded onto teeth to help achieve certain types of movements – these attachments can be more difficult to bond on crowns than teeth. Our dentist can provide further advice.
